    The Challenge

    In simplest terms, the challenge lies in the control of goods being transported between two countries where there are import/export tariffs, border controls and the requirement to remove or reduce stoppage time and related additional costs on consignments to a little as possible.

     

    How Does TruckPass Work?

    The system combines four existing technologies:

    • Blockchain – already in existence, and system to Elandbridge already developed
    • An Electronic Seal – Developed and being applied in the airline sector
    • Secure messaging App using biometric recognition – Developed and being trialed
    • Global Positioning Systems (GPS)

    Elandbridge has combined all four systems to create what we call a ‘Mobile Bonded Warehouse’ (MBW).  

    The MBW, being either a fixed structure lorry, refrigerated as an example, or a shipping container, using the Elandbridge system would have the ability to travel across borders without interruption, with customs on both sides secure in the knowledge that the consignment, once loaded and secured, had not been tampered with.

     

    Current Situation

    Elandbridge limited, has developed a prototype system that has proven the concept. The technology stated above has been developed and/or adapted to create the Elandbridge ecosystem.

    The system has been demonstrated to hauliers in both Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and a desk top version has been presented to government officials closely involved with the development of post Brexit borders. All parties have responded positively.
